LaRouche presents 25-year vision of
U.S. National Mission.

In a 40 minute presentation to a Washington, D.C. audience and webcast on March 21, 2001, EIR founder and registered U.S. Presidential candidate Lyndon LaRouche, laid out a vision of how U.S. citizens can act to reverse the disastrous situation created by the first 60 days of the Bush Administration. Americans must face the fact that the current financial system is doomed, and that, over the last 35 years, American citizens have largely turned themselves into a pack of human cattle, who rather beg for handouts, than think about, and participate in policy.

LaRouche put particular stress on the potential of the fight around saving D.C. General Hospital, as a means of reviving Americans' sense of identity as citizens. He then laid out the idea of a 25-year partnership between the U.S. and Europe, around the infrastructural development of Eurasia, as an appropriate national mission in this period. Under such a concept of rebuilding the world, Americans can once again return to the American Intellectual Tradition, as they did under FDR, and begin to rebuild the planet.
